The main event of UFC 267 is set to start on October 30th at 8:00 am. This main card has 2 championship bouts with the rest being very exciting.

Start of the Main Event: #7 LHW Magomed Ankalaev vs #8 LHW Volkan Oezdemir

This main event kicks off with Magomed Ankalaev(15-1) who is a mixed martial artist who trains in Greco Roman wrestling going up against Volkan Oezdemir(17-5) who is a kickboxer. Magomed Ankalaev is on a 6 fight win streak and Volkan Oezdemir is coming off of a brutal knockout loss coming from the now #3 ranked Jiri Prochazka. In this fight, I expect Magomed Ankalaev to use his Greco Roman wrestling skills to drown Volkan Oezdemir with volume and win by decision or a submission.

#11 WW Li Jingliang vs NR Khamzat Chimaev

Li Jingliang(18-6) is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and a striker is coming off of a knockout win from Fight Island 7 against Santiago Ponzinibbio. Khamzat Chimaev is an undefeated fighter with a 9-0 record with 3 fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization. Khamzat Chimaev has finished all of his fights in the UFC and Li Jingliang has only ever been finished once. My guess is that this fight will be on the feet, I know that both guys are good grapplers but Khamzat Chimaev will not go to the ground with Li Jingliang who is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The outcome of this fight will be a brutal knockout.

#5 HW Alexander Volkov vs #9 HW Marcin Tybura

The number 5 ranked heavyweight of the world Alexander Volkov(33-9) is coming off a very dominant unanimous decision loss to now Interim Heavyweight Champion of the World Cyril Gane who is set to fight the Heavyweight Champion of the World Francis Ngannou, will be going up against the number 9 ranked heavyweight Marcin Tybura who is on a 5 fight win streak . Alexander Volkov who is a striker is going up against Marcin Tybura who is a striker with a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. Observing Alexander Volkov’s last fight, he struggled to go up against Cyril Gane’s pressure, I’m expecting for Alexander Volkov to now be the one who puts on the pressure or for Marcin Tybura to pressure him and grapple with him. The winner depends on if Alexander Volkov puts the pressure on Marcin Tybura. If Volkov doesn’t, he will once crumble again and either be knocked out or submitted.

#5 LW Islam Makhachev vs #6 LW Dan Hooker

The number 5 ranked lightweight Islam Makhachev(20-1) is coming off of a dominant submission win via RNC against number 15 ranked lightweight Thiago Moises, will be going against number 6 ranked lightweight Dan Hooker(21-10) who is coming off of a dominant unanimous decision win against NR Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 266. Islam Makhachev trains in Sambo with his cousin who is one of the all time greats Khabib Nurmagomedov. Dan Hooker is a kickboxer who trains with the Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya who is set to make his fourth title defense against number one contender Robert Whittaker at UFC 270, and the Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski who’s coming off of a dominant win against Brian Ortega at UFC 266. For this fight, Islam Makhachev will use his dominant wrestling to submit a not so good grappler in Dan Hooker.

Co-Main Event of UFC 267 #1 BW Petr Yan vs #3 Cory Sandhagen

Petr Yan(15-2) at UFC 259 was basically making fun of the now Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling by landing all seven of his takedowns while Aljamain Sterling only landed one out of his seventeen, until Petr Yan knee’d Aljamain Sterling in the head while he was on the ground. This Co-Main event was actually supposed to be their rematch until Aljamain Sterling pulled out of the fight from not recovering in time from his neck surgery, so Cory Sandhagen(14-3) who is coming off of a loss to the returning TJ Dillashaw will be fighting against Petr Yan for the Interim Bantamweight Championship. Petr Yan is a fighter who trains in Muay Thai having great trips from the clinch and excellent striking and Cory Sandhagen trains in Mixed Martial Arts being a great grappler and striker. In this fight, I expect Petr Yan to put on a very dominant performance with grappling and striking but Cory Sandhagen is absolutely unpredictable, he might shock the world with a knockout that puts Petr Yan out cold or maybe submit him.

The Main Event of UFC 267 (C) Jan Blachowicz vs #1 Glover Teixeira

For the Main Event of UFC 267, a light heavyweight championship is on the line for the Light Heavyweight Champion of the World, Jan Blachowicz(28-8) and the number one contender, Glover Teixeira(32-7). Glover Teixeira has stated that if he wins or loses, he will retire. Glover said that he wants to be like the Lightweight GOAT Khabib Nurmagomedov and retire on the top of the world. Jan Blachowicz is a striker with a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, he is also on an incredible run with 5 wins in a row starting with Luke Rockhold, Jacare Souza, Corey Anderson, Dominick Reyes to win the Vacant Light Heavyweight Championship, and then successfully making his first title defense against the arguably greatest middleweight of all time Israel Adesanya. Glover Teixeira is also on a 5 fight win streak against Karl Roberson, Ion Cutelaba, Nikita Krylov, Anthony Smith, and Thiago Santos. Glover Teixeira trains in wrestling, boxing, and brazilian jiu jitsu. Glover is also a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. This fight will be a mixed martial artist fight, these 2 will grapple and strike with each other. At 41 years old, Glover Teixeira will most likely look slow but Jan Blachowicz is 38, I’d say that this fight would have more grappling than striking. The outcome of this fight will be great.
