Joanne Jergenson is a candidate for US president and is an American academic and a  libertarian political activist. She was born on May 1, 1957 in Libertyville, Illinois. She received a bachelor of science degree in Psychology at Baylor University in 1979. Then, received a master’s degree in 1980 at Southern Methodist University. She started her career at IBM, working with computer systems and leaving there to become part owner.

Jorgensen has ran for the  1992 United States House of Representatives election and placed 3rd with 2.2 of the total vote. She also has been the Libertarian Party’s vice presidential nominee in 1996, which she was nominated on the first ballot with 92 percent of the vote. Now, she is the Libertarian Party’s nominee for president of the United States in the 2020 election.
