Hi, this is Jkfilmsfan, and this post will be about how to deal with the stress of middle school. Currently I am in middle school, and I’ll be honest, it is extremely stressful. Sometimes I want to scream out of stress and frustration. I would say it is pretty normal for middle schoolers and high schoolers to feel this way, but it does depend on what teachers you have.
Here are a few tips about dealing with middle school.
1. Ask your teachers for clarification.
This is something that I really struggle with, but the first thing you should do is to ask your teacher for clarification on something before you start stressing out over it. I’m sure that for most of you it is also very hard to ask your teachers for help, but it’s their job to answer questions that you have.
2. If you have a lot of work, do the work in sections.
I find that the thing that stresses so many people out is trying to get a lot of work done in a short amount of time. Then that leads to more stress and frustration on the work. It is better to figure out what you need to do first, and what you can do later. Let’s say that you have a project due next week, but you have a report due tomorrow. Obviously you would do the report first since it is due sooner.
3. If you have to, take a five-minute break in between homework.
Taking a break from that stressful homework helps a lot. Instead of getting more stressed and frustrated over homework, you should take a break, assess the problem, and if needed, ask someone for help. There is no point of wasting precious time on a small problem. If you have a family member, ask them about the problem. If not, then contact your friends about the problem. If that doesn’t work out, you can always email your teacher about the problem and ask them.
Now you know three things to do to help with stress of middle school. Just remember that this is only a small portion of your life and you shouldn’t stress over too many things. Like I was told by my father, “You need to learn to control your stess or else it will be very hard later on.” As long as you do your best, then it’s fine.
