Just an update for parents and students in my ELA Summit course.
We’ve reached the fifth week of school, we’re working on the Stories and Storyboards project. For PLT, Power Focus Areas, students should have completed Reading Strategies 6 by now. Never fear, if they haven’t mastered that skill yet they’ll continue working on it until it’s done.
There’s going to be some Parent Meetings each month, which I’ll be attending, which will help with any lingering questions about how the Summit Platform works. The dates for these are 9/21, 10/19, and 11/16 but a time hasn’t been chosen yet. Ms. Lama should be contacting parents, or go to the Hercules webpage for more information. But, PLEASE, let me know if you ever have a question. I’m more than happy to meet with anyone after school or during my prep period from 8:30-9:20 am, and you can always contact me any day, any time.
Homework Help is now being offered in my room, room 307, or in Ms. Rose’s room, 505, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We’re going to use the remainder of this week to concentrate on Power Focus Areas, review some procedures for the Summit Platform, and allow students to catch up on their Stories and Storyboards activities if they’ve fallen behind.
ALL PARENTS should have been given the parent access code to their child’s Summit Platform page last week. The letter was sent home with children last Tuesday. If that letter was lost, please speak with Mr. Shaw about getting another one. I don’t have access to parent codes, only Mr. Shaw and Ms. Lama can get those to you.
